Meet Ryen!

Hello everyone! My name is Ryen and I’m the “little sister” in 2Sistersinlaw. I’m happy that you decided to stop by! First, I am truly a North Carolina girl! From the beach to the mountains, I feel like there is so much beauty here in one place. I was born in Greensboro, NC as the youngest of 3 children.  After graduating from Dudley High School (panther pride!) I moved to Charlotte, NC. There I graduated from UNC-Charlotte (go niners!) then moved to Durham, NC for law school. I graduated from THE North Carolina Central University School of Law and I’ve been practicing since 2010. My main area has been personal injury and then I began estates in 2020 when the pandemic happened. Estate work is starting to become something really dear to my heart for reasons that I’ll get into at a later time! At some point growing up, I thought I would become a pediatrician or even something in the area of sports marketing as that was my major in college. Life quickly derailed both of those plans! It just wasn’t for me. With my Father being an attorney, he was thrilled when I began to show interest in law school. Although it wasn’t something that was ever pushed upon us, my parents always had this underlying expectation that no matter what we decided to do, we better work hard at it! I like to think that I got my work ethic from both of them. I know most people may hesitate working with family but practicing with my dad and sister has been such a huge blessing! I truly enjoy advocating for my clients and being their voice of reason in some of their most vulnerable times.  My husband and I got married in 2015 and we have 2 boys, ages 7 and 5. Boy moms unite! My family means everything to me and I’m thankful to have them on this journey. Outside of work, I love traveling, hanging with friends and family, being on any beach, 90’s R&B music, and all things fashion!  The idea of 2SistersinLaw really came about after some motivation from clients. Over the years, clients would often tell us how special it is to see two sisters in a business like ours or how it’s inspiring to see family working together. While I always thought our family dynamic was pretty special, it never dawned on me how rare it is. I remember going to my sister’s office (probably interrupting something she was doing) to tell her this idea about rebranding the firm and the rest is history! I hope my sister and I (and can't forget about Dad) can assist you with any legal matters that you may have!
